Compact Fused Alumina

Compact fused alumina is a new type of high-purity refractory raw material made from high-purity alumina powder and reducing agent in a certain proportion. It is melted at high temperature in an electric arc furnace and then cooled down. It is light gray in color, featuring a high melting point, high bulk density and extremely low porosity. It exhibits excellent wear resistance, slag resistance, volume stability and thermal shock resistance at high temperatures, making it an outstanding raw material in the corundum refractory series.

    It is widely used in iron and steel metallurgy, petrochemical, building materials and ceramics industries. It is mainly used as aggregate for refractory ramming mass and castable material for blast furnace iron runners, and also serves as an excellent material for manufacturing long casting nozzles, sliding plates and various corundum bricks.
